On July 8 and 9, 2026, SBRS GmbH participated in the Waste Management Logistics & Municipal Technology Conference in Selm.

The event has established itself as an important industry gathering for municipal companies, waste management operators, fleet managers, vehicle manufacturers, and infrastructure providers, offering a platform for the exchange of ideas on the mobility and drive concepts of tomorrow.

The focus was on current challenges and solution approaches related to alternative drive systems, charging infrastructure, municipal vehicle fleets, and the transformation toward more sustainable mobility.

In view of increasing demands for economic efficiency, security of supply, and climate protection, it became clear that the future of mobility will not be determined by a single technology, but rather by the intelligent interplay of different solutions.

SBRS on the Panel Discussion Stage

A particular highlight was the panel discussion “Plug, Tank or Pipeline? The Mobility Mix of Tomorrow,” where experts from the energy, vehicle, and infrastructure sectors discussed the future of climate-friendly mobility. Representing SBRS, our Managing Director Andreas Stahl participated in the discussion and contributed the perspective of charging infrastructure for commercial vehicle fleets.

The discussion made one thing clear: the mobility of the future will be shaped by a variety of technologies. For many municipal applications, however, electrification already offers an economically viable and practical solution today—provided that the charging infrastructure is optimally aligned with the respective operational processes.

Charging Infrastructure as the Key to Successful Fleet Electrification

On site, Steve Batty, Tobias Küchel, Dennis Hunn, and Wolfgang Köster were available as points of contact for visitors.

The many discussions at the SBRS booth itself demonstrated that an increasing number of municipalities and waste management companies are actively exploring the electrification of their fleets. As a result, charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important part of strategic decision-making.

Particularly for vehicles operating on fixed routes with predictable downtime, electric drivetrains offer significant potential. A key factor for successful implementation is the interaction between vehicles, energy supply, load management, and charging infrastructure. Only a balanced combination of these elements can ensure a successful path toward achieving the desired goals.

Thank You for the Insightful Discussions

In addition to the panel discussion, many visitors took the opportunity to exchange ideas with the SBRS team. The focus was on current projects, the challenges of fleet electrification, and future requirements for charging and energy solutions.

We would like to thank WFZruhr e.V. for organizing this successful event, as well as all discussion partners for the engaging conversations. Every exchange is a pleasure for us and inspires curiosity for changing perspectives and new ideas. The many encounters in Selm once again confirmed that the future of municipal and commercial mobility is already being shaped today.
