On April 10, 2025, the “ARGE BVG Säntis” received the contract from BVG Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe AöR for the construction of the new bus depot on Säntisstraße. With the official receipt of the order, the construction phase of the project for emission-free bus transport in Berlin now begins.
The project will be implemented and realized by “ARGE BVG Säntis” as the general contractor, consisting of SBRS GmbH and ZECH Bau.
On the approximately 66,000 m² site, a highly functional depot with a total gross floor area of over 21,900 m² will be built. The new depot will include an administration building with offices, a canteen, and a gym, a workshop and service hall, as well as parking areas with charging infrastructure for a total of 218 electric buses. Additionally, the newly built workshop hall will be equipped with 12 workshop and 8 service workstations, two portal washing systems, and an underbody washing system.
With the new depot, BVG is making an important milestone in electrification and significantly contributing to sustainable mobility in Berlin.
