On September 12, 2025, we at SBRS celebrated its annual summer party at the Welcome Hotel in Wesel – all under the motto “Pit Stop.” The event provided the perfect setting to reflect on the first nine months of the year together and to start the next stage with renewed energy.
Teamwork in the Spotlight
After a brief review of the year’s achievements and challenges, the focus shifted to teamwork: each department defined its role in a “pit stop” – highlighting, how they contribute as a team to overall success and what next steps are needed to keep moving forward. A special highlight was the caricature artist, who captured the teams’ ideas and contributions live on a huge graphic, creating lasting memories.
Innovation and Inspiration: Shell Eco-Marathon
Next, two students from Trier who participate in the Shell Eco-Marathon amazed and inspired everyone. The Shell Eco-Marathon is an international competition where students from around the world develop and build energy-efficient vehicles to travel as far as possible using as little energy as possible. The two students presented their innovative project, explained the technical challenges, and fascinated colleagues with their exciting insights into sustainable mobility – a topic that fits perfectly with SBRS’s mission.

Creative Team Building: Soapbox Challenge
In the afternoon, things got creative and sporty: in mixed teams, colleagues built their own soapbox cars. Here, teamwork, craftsmanship, and plenty of imagination were required. The homemade vehicles were then put to the test in various competitions – including a challenging course that generated lots of excitement and team spirit.
The grand finale took place at the Q-Stall, the party location right next to the hotel. With great food, fantastic music, and lively conversations, everyone ended the day together.
The SBRS Summer Party 2025 was a complete success – a day full of team spirit, creativity, and unforgettable moments!
A colleague is ready to drive the selfmade soapbox. Of course he needs to wear safety equipment.
