SBRS wins sustainability award for electric ferry charging infrastructure

1st place at the German Award for Sustainability Projects 2026

We are delighted to receive another award: SBRS has been awarded 1st place in the “Project – Energy” category at the German Award for Sustainability Projects 2026 for our project“Charging Infrastructure for Electric Ferries in Kiel”. 

Innovative charging infrastructure for maritime applications

Maritime operations place specific demands on reliable charging infrastructure. With our solution for electric and diesel-electric ferries in Kiel, we are supporting the electrification of ferry transport.

For Schlepp- und Fährgesellschaft Kiel, SBRS developed a tailored charging infrastructure solution that enables the reliable operation of electric ferries. Designed for demanding maritime environments, the solution combines robust infrastructure with a long service life and supports the electrification of ferry transport. These characteristics are also reflected in SBRS’s public communication about the project.

The award-winning project reflects our approach at SBRS: developing reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure for the diverse requirements of electric mobility.

Another award for SBRS

SBRS was already recognised at the German Award for Sustainability Projects in 2023. At the time, our project“Charging e-trucks at 14 container terminals” received an award in the “Mobility & Logistics” category.

With 1st place in the “Project – Energy” category in 2026, another SBRS project has now received recognition.
