Andreas Stahl, Managing Director at SBRS GmbH and Fabian Schmid, Direktor RBS andBusbetrieb Solothurn Grenchen and Region are closing the deal with a handshake.

Shell and SBRS GmbH are supporting Regionalverkehr Bern–Solothurn (RBS) as well as the Solothurn–Grenchen bus operator on their path toward a climate‑friendly, future‑proof bus operation.

A total of 44 charging points are being installed at the Worblaufen and Zuchwil bus depots – a major milestone in the gradual electrification of both operators’ bus fleets. The project was awarded through a joint public tender and also marks our official market entry in Switzerland.

“Winning this tender and forming a partnership with RBS and the Solothurn–Grenchen bus operator is an important step for us. This project shows how we create real added value with reliable charging infrastructure, strong system expertise, and efficient project execution. For us, this is just the beginning – we look ahead with great confidence to many more innovative solutions in the Swiss market.” – Andreas Stahl, Managing Director, SBRS GmbH

For both transport operators, the project represents more than just infrastructure: it is an investment in quieter, low‑emission buses, reliable operational concepts, and a powerful public transport system for the region. An expansion option for up to 110 charging points by 2032 shows that the focus is already firmly on the future.

A big thank‑you to RBS and the Solothurn–Grenchen bus operator for their trust! We are very much looking forward to this partnership. Together, we are laying the foundation for sustainable mobility in Switzerland.
