SBRS GmbH Honored for Project Contargo at the CNA Innovation Award Ceremony
During the Mobility Congress on April 1st and the Rail Congress on April 2nd, SBRS GmbH was honored with a special award at the IP2025 Award Ceremony in Nuremberg. The award recognizes outstanding achievements in the fields of innovation, science, sustainability, and – for the first time this year – in the special category Coup de Coeur.
Professor Dr. Siegfried Balleis held the laudatory speech for the nominees and presented the awards to the winners. Sebastian Honert, project manager at SBRS, accepted the award for the Contargo project on behalf of SBRS GmbH. The project exemplifies sustainable, future-oriented mobility solutions and demonstrates how innovative charging infrastructure enables emission-free logistics concepts.
As part of the Contargo project, a powerful e-truck infrastructure was established: a total of 79 charging points with 250 kW each were installed at 14 container terminals. The system is complemented by intelligent energy management and battery storage with a total capacity of 2,940 kWh. The special feature: the battery storage is charged, among other things, through the recuperation of crane systems and the customer’s photovoltaic systems. They not only serve sustainable energy generation but also buffer peak loads to make the charging of more than 90 Contargo electric heavy-duty trucks efficient and grid-friendly.
“This award is a special recognition of the intensive work and successful collaboration in the Contargo project,” said Sebastian Honert after the ceremony.
We sincerely thank the jury of the IP2025 Award and all participants of the Mobility and Rail Congresses and look forward to continuing to make an active contribution to the mobility transition with our partners.
